Her Time: A Poem

I wrote this poem in honor of the woman who has been held captive of societal’s standards of aging and who has allowed fictional timelines of “womanhood” to define their success and status. I used to be bound by these ideals of making sure my biological clock was accounted for. But then, I started living for me, pursuing my career passions and I switched careers and will soon become a medical doctor this year. Poem below:
